Overview
With an efficient line-up of leading orthopaedic doctors from around the country, we offer dedicated treatments in all minor and major osteoarthritic issues. One of our leading treatment modules includes platelet-rich plasma transfusion for patients with osteoarthritis. Our treatments involve minimally invasive surgeries for trauma recovery or even bone restructuring.
Services and treatment offered include
Joint replacement and treatment involve surgical and non-surgical interventions to address conditions such as arthritis, joint damage, and chronic pain that affect the function and mobility of the joints. Here are some common joint replacement surgeries and treatments:
Total Knee Replacement (TKR): TKR is a surgical procedure to replace the damaged or diseased surfaces of the knee joint with artificial implants made of metal, plastic, or ceramic. It is typically performed to relieve pain and restore function in patients with severe knee arthritis, injury, or deformity.
Total Hip Replacement (THR): THR involves replacing the damaged or deteriorated hip joint with artificial components to reduce pain and improve mobility. It is often recommended for patients with hip arthritis, fractures, or avascular necrosis (loss of blood supply to the hip joint).
Total Shoulder Replacement: This surgery replaces the damaged or arthritic shoulder joint with artificial components, including a metal ball attached to a stem that fits into the upper arm bone (humerus) and a plastic socket that replaces the glenoid (socket of the shoulder blade). Total shoulder replacement can alleviate pain and restore range of motion in patients with shoulder arthritis or severe shoulder injuries.
Partial Knee Replacement (PKR): PKR involves replacing only the damaged part of the knee joint with a prosthetic implant while preserving the healthy portions of the joint. It is a less invasive alternative to total knee replacement and may be suitable for patients with localized knee arthritis or damage.
Partial Hip Replacement (Hemiarthroplasty): Hemiarthroplasty replaces only the femoral head (ball portion) of the hip joint with a prosthetic implant, leaving the natural acetabulum (socket) intact. It may be performed in certain cases of hip fractures or avascular necrosis affecting the femoral head.
Revision Joint Replacement: Revision surgery may be necessary to replace a failed or worn-out joint implant or address complications such as infection, instability, or implant loosening following primary joint replacement surgery.
Non-surgical treatments for joint conditions may include:
Medications: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), analgesics, corticosteroids, and disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) may be prescribed to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and manage symptoms of arthritis and joint conditions.
Physical Therapy: Exercise programs, stretching, strengthening exercises, and manual therapy techniques may help improve joint function, flexibility, and mobility, as well as alleviate pain and stiffness.
Lifestyle Modifications: Weight management, activity modification, and assistive devices such as braces, canes, or orthotics may be recommended to reduce stress on the joints and improve overall joint health.
Injections: Intra-articular injections of corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid (viscosupplementation), or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) may provide temporary relief from pain and inflammation in arthritic joints.
The choice of treatment depends on factors such as the type and severity of the joint condition, patient’s age, overall health, lifestyle, and treatment goals. Treatment plans are often tailored to address individual needs and preferences while maximizing outcomes and quality of life.
